Birmingham-based Nepali footballer Sajan Dangol announces second football-juggling world record

Sajan Dangol, a Nepali footballer who lives in Birmingham, has announced a second world record in football juggling and said it has been registered with Guinness World Records. He made the announcement at a press conference in Birmingham on Sunday 1 November, at an event titled "From the Football Pitch to the Summit of Everest".

According to the report of the event, Dangol juggled a football for 6 hours, 22 minutes and 59 seconds without it touching the ground, alternating between both feet, on 15 May 2026. His first record dates from 16 February 2024, when he juggled for one hour at Lordswood Boys School in Birmingham. That earlier attempt was also described by his employer, MWW, a fresh-produce business where he works as a warehouse quality-assurance operative, which said his first attempt ended at 286 touches before he succeeded on his second.

Dangol was born in Tokha, Kathmandu, played in Nepal's under-14 national league and for several top-division clubs, and was picked for the under-19 national squad, but injuries and health problems ended his hopes of senior international football. He moved to the UK in 2021 and completed a master's degree at Birmingham City University in 2022. He has since played non-league football in the Midlands. He also reached the summit of Mount Everest on 14 May 2025, a year and a day before the juggling attempt.

Two points remain unverified. The registration date and certificate details for the latest record were not given in the sources reviewed, and NepalUK has not seen a Guinness certificate. The number of touches in the 2024 record is also reported inconsistently, as 2,218 in one account and 9,218 in his employer's; NepalUK therefore does not state it. A documentary about Dangol is reportedly in preparation. His story, a migrant worker pursuing a sporting goal alongside full-time employment, offers a practical example for young Nepali professionals in the UK. NepalUK will update this item once Guinness World Records publishes or confirms the entry.
