About Us

Independent news and a trusted home for the Nepalese community in the UK

NepalUK.com was first registered on 6 June 2005 as a community website for Nepali people living in Britain. Relaunched on 6 June 2025, it has grown into a news and community platform for students, families, professionals and business owners, and for second-generation British Nepalese who want to stay connected to their heritage.

Our mission is simple: to connect, celebrate and empower the Nepalese community in the UK.

Our journalism

Many outlets notice the Nepalese community only in a crisis. We report on it every day.

Our newsroom covers news from Nepal and the UK, and the connections between them: politics and governance, disasters and public safety, migration and workers’ rights, business and the economy, education, sport, culture and festivals. We explain not only what happened, but why it matters and how it affects you, whether you live in Hounslow or Hetauda.

Our journalists are free to report without interference. Our role is to hold power to account, not to answer to it. We check facts, distinguish confirmed information from uncertainty, and correct our mistakes openly. Read our Editorial Independence and Corrections Policy.

Crossroads is our home for longer stories and interviews: conversations about identity, migration, careers, entrepreneurship and the choices that shape life between two countries.

A community you can use

NepalUK is more than a news site. It is a practical toolkit for daily life:

  • Events: find and promote festivals, concerts, cultural gatherings and community celebrations, from Dashain to Tihar and beyond. Anyone can add an event.
  • Directory: find Nepali businesses, community organisations, temples and religious services, media, restaurants, shops, solicitors and financial advisers, builders, care and wellness providers, tutors and driving schools, travel agencies and event planners. Businesses and organisations can add a free or paid listing.
  • Accommodation: search for rooms and flatshares in Nepali-friendly households across the UK, and list a room of your own.
  • Universities & Colleges: a guide for prospective students to UK institutions and their courses.
  • Community Forum: ask questions and share experience on study and student life, jobs and careers, housing and living in the UK, and community events.
  • Jobs & Job Seekers: employers can post vacancies and job seekers can look for full-time, part-time, student and skilled roles.
  • Buy & Sell: books, crafts, clothing and traditional items connecting you to Nepali makers and retailers.

  • Respectful: we protect privacy, treat sensitive subjects with care, and use “Nepali” and “Nepalese” thoughtfully.
