Kathmandu – Nepal’s premier cricket ground at Tribhuvan University at Kirtipur is being upgraded in full swing, officials said.

The upgradation work is in full swing at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Reconstruction work is underway at the Kirtipur cricket stadium, which is the country's only international cricket ground.

The upgrading work is now in its final stages. The upgrading work includes parapet construction and the installation of floodlights.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said that the construction work will be completed for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) matches, which are scheduled to begin on November 17.

Once completed, the parapet will accommodate up to 10,000 spectators.

Newly appointed Youth and Sports Minister, Bablu Gupta, visited  Kirtipur on November 1 to review ongoing development work.

Last month, Minister for Urban Development Kulman Ghising had inspected the ongoing upgradation work at the TU Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur and directed stakeholders to expedite its completion.

He expressed confidence that the first phase of works would be completed before the start of the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL).
