Nepali community leaders pay tribute to Yubin Tamang

 London – Leaders of Nepali community have paid tribute to late Yubin Tamang.

A funeral service took place at St. Marylebone Crematorium, East End Road, London on Friday to honour and remember Yubin’s life.

Lama Guru Karma Wangel of the  Buddhist Community Centre UK London Branch recited prayers in memory of late Yubin.

Paying tributes, Rajendra Pudasaini, President of the NRNA UK, Mr Rajendra Pudasaini, said the tragic death of a promising young student Yubin was not only a loss for his family  but for the Nepali community as a whole. He demanded strong action against British rapper, Ghetts, who has pleaded guilty for the hit-and-run case.

Lewis Redfern, head of Southlands College from the University of Roehampton,  Hari Singh Waiba President, Tamang Ghedung UK, Somras Tamang, General Secretary Tamang Society of UK, Ganja Ale, President of Gurkha Nepali Welfare Society (GNWS), Jiwan Rana from Dharan Samaj UK and Mohan Thapa, Treasurer of Magar Association UK also paid tributes to late Yubin. On behalf of the family, Major Autar Shrestha read a tribute speech.  Bishal Tamang, General Secretary of Tamang Ghedung Sang, hosted the program.

A wake service  took place afterwards at Rani Veg restaurant, Hendon Central.

 

Rapper Ghetts admits killing Yubin

British rapper Ghetts has admitted killing Yubin in a hit-and-run collision in north-east London

The grime artist, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, failed to stop after his BMW hit  Yubin Tamang, 20, in Ilford, north-east London, on 18 October 2025.

Police said the rapper was driving over 60mph in a 30mph zone, and hit Mr Tamang who was crossing the road.

Clarke-Samuel, 41, from Woodford, east London, pleaded guilty to causing Mr Tamang's death by dangerous driving, and a second charge of dangerous driving on the same day. He also faces two further charges which are driving while over the legal alcohol limit and dangerous driving.
