Nepal’s embassy in Riyadh has told Nepali citizens in Saudi Arabia not to photograph, record or share images of missile and drone attacks or interceptions, in a notice dated 15 October.
The embassy said Saudi authorities have banned filming and posting such material, including pictures of locations where projectiles fell, on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp. It warned that violations could result in legal action and urged Nepali nationals to follow local law, stay alert and pass the notice on within their communities.
The advisory follows more than a week of missile and drone attacks on the kingdom, which the Saudi-led coalition has blamed on Yemen’s Houthi movement. Reports say a strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on 10 October killed 13 people and wounded about 300. Saudi authorities have not specified the penalties or legal provisions involved, and the embassy notice gives none.
