Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Nepal crushed Bhutan by a massive 298 runs today at the Selangor Turf Club, sealing their spot in the semifinals of the ACC Men's U16 East Zone Cup 2025.
Nepal set a formidable target, posting 358 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was highlighted by a superb century from Raunak Srivastav, who smashed 168 runs. Half-centuries from Joy Thapa (61) and Shiwansh Bajgain (54) further bolstered Nepal's score. Bhutanese bowler Sangay Dorji took three wickets, with Tenzin Loday Jamtsho adding one.
In response, Bhutan's batting effort fell drastically short of expectations. The team was dismissed for a mere 60 runs in 32.4 overs, failing to come close to the target. Only Tshezang Dawa, who scored 14 runs, and Ugyen Kelzang Chophel, with 10 runs, reached double figures.
Nepal's bowlers put on a clinical performance, with Bipin Prasad Sharma leading the charge with four wickets. Suyog Bhattarai and Sachin Bhatta also contributed significantly, taking two wickets each.
This dominant victory ensures Nepal finishes as Group A winners. They will now face Malaysia in the semifinal on Thursday.
