Nepal defeated Oman by 113 runs at Al Amerat, Muscat, on Tuesday 13 October in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series, posting 263/8 and dismissing Oman for about 150 (reports differ slightly on the exact total). Sandeep Lamichhane and Nandan Yadav took three wickets each; Karan KC hit 40 from 16 balls. It followed a 24-run win over Canada on 11 October, led by captain Rohit Paudel's 101.
Nepal had been seventh of eight teams before the series, and Kathmandu Post reports that a win over Canada on Saturday would guarantee a top-six finish, which the paper links to keeping ODI status. Nepal can no longer reach a direct World Cup qualifier place and must use the play-off route. Nepal-based and diaspora supporters should note that the final standings are not yet settled.
