HIGH WYCOMBE, UK – A Luton man, Nikhil Lama, 27, has been sentenced to two years in prison after being caught dealing Class A drugs in High Wycombe.
The sentencing took place at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. This marks Lama's second significant jail term in recent years.
Lama, of Tomlinson Avenue in Luton, was apprehended by Thames Valley Police officers in October 2024. They were patrolling Kitchener Road in High Wycombe when they observed Lama attempting to discard 28 wraps of heroin and 28 wraps of crack cocaine, leading to his immediate arrest.
An investigation by Thames Valley Police uncovered that Lama was deeply involved in "county lines" drug dealing. This criminal network model involves transporting illegal drugs from urban areas to rural or smaller towns. In this case, Lama was running substances between Luton and High Wycombe.
He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin during the same court hearing.
PC Usman Shafique, commenting on the sentencing, publicly stated that Lama's involvement in bringing Class A drugs into High Wycombe contributes significantly to organised crime, serious violence, and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, making it a severe cause of harm within communities.
PC Shafique has further stated that they were pleased Lama had been jailed and his drugs removed from circulation, reiterating the police's commitment to pursuing and prosecuting drug dealers who often harm the most vulnerable. They also encouraged the public to report drug supply offenders, as provided information aids in developing intelligence for proactive investigations, emphasizing their continued efforts to disrupt drug dealers.
This latest conviction is not Lama's first brush with the law involving serious offenses. In 2020, Nikhil Lama was jailed for over three years after being found guilty of burglary and assault.
According to a report by the Slough Observer, on July 15, 2020, Lama, then also of Tomlinson Avenue in Luton, broke into a property on Priors Road in Windsor while its occupants were present.
During the incident, he took a knife from the kitchen and proceeded to search the house. He assaulted a teenage girl by punching her in an attempt to steal her mobile phone before fleeing the premises without taking anything. Lama was arrested and charged for this offense on October 6, 2020.
Thames Valley Police have yet to publicly disclose Nikhil Lama's citizenship status.
