The Nepali painter Govinda Sah "Azad" is to hold an exhibition at Sundaram Tagore Gallery in London on Friday 16 October, with part of the proceeds from the auction of selected paintings going to relief and rehabilitation work in Himalayan communities hit by floods and landslides in late August.
The event begins at 6pm and is open to the public, according to the gallery. Nepal's acting ambassador to the UK, Bipin Dwadi, is due to open it. Born in Rajbiraj in 1974, the artist is based in Margate, Kent, where he runs a studio.
The announcement does not name a beneficiary organisation or say what share of proceeds will be donated, and those details have not been independently confirmed. Anyone planning to bid may wish to ask the organisers before the event.
