Double-Decker Bus Engulfed in Flames on Major London Road

LONDON, UK – A double-decker bus was engulfed in flames on a major road east of London, causing significant traffic disruption. Transport for London (TfL) confirmed there were no passengers on board. The driver was also uninjured.

The blaze occurred on the eastbound A13 near Wennington. The London Fire Brigade was called to the scene at 09:03 BST. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

The bus, operated by Arriva, was out of service and on a road test when the fire began. The incident resulted in the temporary closure of the A13's eastbound carriageway. This caused severe delays in the area.

TfL has apologised for the inconvenience. It is now working closely with Arriva to investigate the cause of the fire.

This is the second bus fire to hit the city in as many days. On Thursday, a number 88 bus caught fire in central London. All passengers were safely evacuated in that incident, and no injuries were reported.
