BNCC organises Summer Soirée at the Embassy of Nepal, London

London—The Britain- Nepal Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) organised  a Summer Soirée at the Embassy of Nepal in London.

The Soirée, held on Thursday evening, was attended by ambassadors from both the United Kingdom (UK) and Nepal, business leaders, and investors. The event featured important discussions and a Q&A session aimed at strengthening and expanding bilateral economic relations.

The programme was held on the eve of the Nepal–UK Tech Forum 2025, a major bilateral initiative organized by the Embassy of Nepal to promote digital innovation, investment, and cross-border collaboration in the tech sector.

Attendees included Rob Fenn, British Ambassador to Nepal; Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK; Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI); Sushil Gyewali, CEO of the Investment Board Nepal; Hem Raj Dhakal, Co-founder and Managing Director of IME Group; and Steve Buckley, CEO of BNCC, along with other high-profile dignitaries.

In his remarks, British Ambassador Rob Fenn reiterated the UK government's continued commitment to Nepal's development through various aid programmes.

He mentioned that the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) was in its final stage and expressed hope that it would be concluded during his tenure. He also stated that now is the right time to invest in Nepal.

Ambassador Chandra Kumar Ghimire spoke about over 210-year-long diplomatic relations between Nepal and the UK, emphasizing the need to improve bilateral trade. He also expressed gratitude to BNCC for its initiative in promoting UK–Nepal trade and investment.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), highlighted Nepal’s vast investment potential in sectors such as tourism, hydropower, energy, technology, data centers, and cybersecurity. He emphasized the Federation’s role in facilitating foreign investment and creating a stable business environment.

Sushil Gyewali, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), shed light on the board’s current structure and its role in assisting foreign investors. He also presented a framework of the well-organized processes and institutional support available for those seeking to invest in Nepal’s growing economy.

Dr. Kapil Rijal, President of BNCC and a successful entrepreneur in the UK, expressed his gratitude to all participants and underscored the Chamber’s role as a facilitator of bilateral trade and investment and in strengthening business ties between the UK and Nepal.

“BNCC is not just a chamber—it’s a bridge,” Dr. Rijal said. “We help investors identify opportunities, connect with the right partners, and understand the business landscape in both countries.” He added that the organization creates platforms through seminars, trade delegations, and similar networking events.

The event, hosted by BNCC Vice President Biraj Bhatt, began with a prayer performed by member Krishna Bhatt. A ‘Loyal Toast’ was led by Vice President and Treasurer Indra Giri. On the occasion, BNCC also presented Accreditation to businesspersons B.P. Khanal and Suman Shrestha.
