A Nepali student killed in East London in alleged hit-n-run crash

London – In a tragic incident, 20-year-old Yubin Tamang died on Saturday after he was allegedly hit by a car being driven by a British rapper, police said.

The musician and Netflix actor Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, allegedly failed to stop after hitting Yubin.

The collision occurred in Redbridge Lane East on Saturday, October 18, police said.

Ghetts, 41, from Woodford Green, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Metro newspaper reported.

Call for justice

The family of Yubin Tamang  have called for justice since his tragic death.

His father posted a tribute of pictures of Yubin growing up. He said: ‘My little world, all I have left is tears in my hands.’

Yubin’s sister Manita Rai posted an emotional message on TikTok, which said, ‘Please [get] justice for my brother. We miss you.’

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward
